DPExpert has published their final review on the Olympus XZ-1 and here’s the review summary – ‘What they liked – If you shoot in RAW the photo quality is outstanding. However, JPEGs were brought down in quality by the noise reduction system which by the say has no off switch.
Not so hot – Oops, no optical viewfinder which puts in a negative light if you are comparing it to the likes of the Canon G12 or the Nikon P7000.
Bottom Line – No doubt about it this is one fine camera with an awesome lens and it is built really well. It is just too bad about not being able to turn the noise reduction system off. All thing considered it is good choice in the top compact sector.’
