Getty Images has picked up an unprecedented 8 awards at the 2010 Sports Journalism Association Awards, including the prestigious Sports Photographer of the Year prize.
Chosen from the Sport Portfolio and the Specialist Sports Portfolio winners, Laurence Griffiths won the portfolio category for his 10 picture portfolio of best sporting images including the trophy celebrations at the UEFA Europa League Final and went on to pick up the overall Sports Photographer of the Year prize.
In the Sports Picture category, Getty photographers took home all of the prizes, including Paul Gilham taking the top award and Julian Finney and Mike Hewitt receiving highly commended awards. Hewitt was also highly commended in the Sports News Picture and Specialist Portfolio categories.
