Rawstudio 2.0 Released for Linux
After being three years in development, we are very proud to announce the second release of one of leader of free and open source image processing software.
We think we have achieved a level of operation, that will enable you to process a huge number of images quickly and easily, enabling you to get a high quality result you can share with everyone in a short amount of time. Our main focus in this version has been to have much more control over the color correctness and overall image quality. At the same time it has been a high priority for us to maintain a high speed of operations, so you can edit your RAW files even on netbooks and similar hardware.
The main features of version 2 are full DNG Color Profile support, a unique and a huge bump in overall image quality, and a new image decoder to have the fastest load time for full 100% view of images. Through the heavy use of SSE2 assembler and multi-threading, we are able to deliver this speed without sacrificing quality at any point.

About Rawstudio
Rawstudio is an open-source program to read and manipulate RAW images from digital cameras.
To get the best quality out of your digital camera, it is often recommended that you record your pictures in RAW format. This format is mostly specific to a camera and cannot be read by most image editing applications. Our goal is to supply you with a tool, where you can have the benefits of RAW images and the ease of use of JPEG images.
The main focus of Rawstudio is to enable efficient review and fast processing of large image collections. We aim to supply you with a tool that makes it possible for you to review and process several hundred images in a matter of a few hours.
Rawstudio will convert your RAW files into JPEG, PNG or TIF images which you can then print or send to friends and clients. You can also upload photos directly to Picasa, Flickr and Facebook galleries.
Rawstudio is intended as the first tool in your image processing chain. After you have made your overall image adjustments to your image, you can use an image editing application to further work on your images.
Rawstudio itself is a highly specialized application for reviewing and processing RAW images, not a fully featured image editing application.
Rawstudio is currently tested and available for multiple Linux based platforms, and we are expecting a Windows, MacOS X and FreeBSD version to be available in the future.
